Big Rig Rollover Driver Air-Lifted to LR
March 3rd, 2020 by Joe BurgessShortly after 3 PM, Monday afternoon, the driver of this 18-wheeler, loaded with cardboard, lost control of his big-rig, likely as the cardboard shifted, in Dead Man’s Curve, on HWY 278 E.
The tractor-trailer straightened out the curve, and rolled over into the ditch, trapping the driver inside.
Monticello Fire/Rescue extricated him from the crash. MASI transported him to the 278 Bypass intersection, where he was airlifted to Little Rock.
The injuries are believed to be orthopedic in nature, and not life-threatening.
Highway 278 was closed to traffic for approximately two hours.
