Big Rig Rollover, 425 North, Swerving for Deer
November 8th, 2021 by Joe BurgessAt 8:43, Sunday night, Monticello dispatch received a call of a rollover big-rig, a mile north of Montongo.
Monticello. Fire and Rescue, along with the Drew County Sheriffs Deputies, OEM, and MASI, were dispatched to the accident, where the driver was reportedly trapped inside the tractor/trailer. The driver was safely removed from the vehicle,but did not need medical transportation.
The driver told someone on the scene that he had swerved to miss a deer, when he lost control of the vehicle.
The road was re-opened around midnight.

this happened right in front of my house wiped out my mailbox & post also my step-son’s–the trailer turned over in front of my metal bldg & lost his load of feed, grain & salt blocks–I called 911 as did someone who had stopped–was a line of traffic all backed up in southbound lane–the wreck was worked un til about 2:30 AM.. this morning clean up crew is up here cleaning up all the mess!!! 2nd time an 18 wheeler has gone through my yard–just hope no wreck ends up in my house!!! thank u Joe for posting the photo’s & story about it.
