Big Rig Hit & Run, 2 Other Recent Wrecks
December 30th, 2020 by Joe BurgessAround 2:30 PM Tuesday, a call came in reporting a hit & run at 278/425, where a big rig had left the scene. Minutes later, a truck matching that description was found on the UAM campus, stopped in the roadway.
Although very minor damage occurred in the accident, MPD and Arkansas Highway Police responded.
The truck was taken “out of service“ for safety issues, including tires, and the driver was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
At 6 PM Saturday, the driver of this Toyota, lost control of their vehicle on Midway Route, striking a tree. DCSO deputies responded. Rods Wrecker removed the vehicle. MASI transported the victim.
Last Wednesday, just before 2 PM, the driver of this Ford Taurus was traveling north on Highway 425, near the Lincoln county line. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a tree, pinning him inside.
Monticello Fire and Rescue responded to extricate the driver. Drew County Sheriffs deputies and OEM responded. SEEMS transported the victim, Reggie’s Wrecker removed the Taurus.
