Last Thursday, just before noon, the driver of this southbound 18-wheeler was traveling north of Montongo, when a large tree, weighed down by thick ice on its limbs and branches, fell, striking the truck as it went under the tree, taking out the big rig’s windshield.

Drew County deputies responded. The driver was not injured.

Road crews re-open the highway, shortly after the incident.
