Bear Struck by Truck, Near Collins
June 13th, 2017 by iPhoneMinutes before 3 PM, Monday afternoon, a 350–400 pound bear was struck by a Mazda pick-up truck, near Collins.

Drew County Sheriff Deputies and an AG&F game warden resonded to the scene.
The driver of the truck was uninjured. A passenger in the truck sustained airbag injuries, and was treated and released at the scene.
Reports indicate that the bear was killed on impact.
The Game and Fish Commission removed the bear, and will use it for educational purposes.
Reggie’s Wrecker removed the truck.
