Barkada Road Grass Fire Spreads to Woods, Near Neighborhood

At 1:40 PM, Thursday afternoon, a neighbor on Barkada Road noticed a grass fire that was being blown by winds into a wooded area, near the Tanglewood area.
That neighbor called Monticello dispatch, and tried to contain the fire to some extent with a shovel, while the Monticello Fire Department immediately responded.
Firefighters extinguish the blaze, although it had gotten very close to at least one home and a nearby vehicle.
