Colonel David Love Chapter met Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Monticello Country Club for a brunch and presentation of DAR Good Citizens Awards to High School Seniors. The students were selected by their Counselors based upon their dependability, service, leadership and patriotism and were given the opportunity to write a patriotic essay to compete for a State DAR Scholarship.

The AACA is proud to announce that it will offer 1 scholarship of $500 each to a student attending Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College, Shorter College, and the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. The primary focus of the scholarship is to assist students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) offering the opportunity to assist with tuition, books, or even housing.
Mike Zieman of Farm Bureau Insurance in Drew County has successfully become an Ag Promise Certified Agent with Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Arkansas, Inc. An agent must complete both educational and experience requirements to become Ag Promise certified. By doing so, an agent becomes more knowledgeable about agricultural risks and can better provide risk management services that address the needs of farmers.

The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, in partnership with the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Association, is offering training for early childhood professionals. Classes are offered free of charge and is verified training through the Traveling Arkansas’ Professional Pathways (TAPP) and supports the Better Beginnings Program.
