November 1st, 2021 by Joe Burgess
Documents have confirmed that 10th Judicial District Circuit Judge Quincy Ross suffered potentially life-threatening injuries, Friday, October 22, around 4 PM with a gunshot wound to the head, near 28th St., in Pine Bluff, at a family member’s residence.
When first responders arrived, the victim’s mother told them that her son had shot himself in the head.
Documents did not specify if the shot was an accident, or provide any other details, except to say that a small black handgun was found in the area.
Judge Ross was transported by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, in Pine Bluff.
Court documents show that retired Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson has been appointed to fill Judge Ross’s seat in Chicot County, Monday.
Current Circuit Judges will fill his other court dates during the rest of 2021, in Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha and Drew counties.
The most recent administrative judge, Judge Teresa French, will sit in that capacity, in the absence of Judge Ross.
