Isn’t it a bit of a conflict to have Mr. Jeffress as a delegate with his wife seeking the nomination for the office? He should have to recuse himself from voting. Moreover, he shouldn’t have been selected as a delegate to begin with.
Response: It was asked at the delegate selection meeting, and it was stated that that was acceptable, since the only two requirements are to be on the Democratic Committee, and live in the district.
Acceptable? Isn’t it bias since we all knowing he will be voting for his wife, regardless if she is the most qualified? Just more South Arkansas, lawless politics.
Joe B.: I don’t have a public opinion on this, but I will make a prediction.
All Ashley County delegates will vote for the Ashley candidate.
All Drew delegates will vote for the Drew County candidates.
When there are 2 candidates left, the Drew candidate will defeat the Ashley candidate by a vote of 6-5, based on “county lines.”
