Armed Robbery Suspect Gets $750,000 Bond, Laughs at Judge

May 4th, 2016 by

The 3 armed robbery suspects, from Saturday night, had first appearance/bond hearings in front of District Judge Sara Hartness, Tuesday morning.

Jessica Dodson, age 19 of Monticello, received a $150,000 bond, indicated in a “jailhouse letter” that she was going to leave the state, to avoid the trial.

Willie Payne, age 29, who recently moved here from California, received a $750,000 bond. Payne had been released from jail Friday, before the Saturday night robbery, on a $10,000 bond on domestic battery 2 charges.

Payne’s California criminal history shows him being in prison from 2006–2013, for crimes ranging from drugs, gang activities, two possession of an assault rifle.

When Judge Hartness placed a $750,000 bond on him, he began laughing at the court.

Demarius Blanks, age 29 of Monticello, received a $20,000 bond for his role in the armed robbery. If released Blanks will remain on house arrest, with an ankle monitor.
