Just minutes after their 10 PM closing time, Sonic, located on 425 N. was robbed at gun-point, Sunday night.
Monticello police quickly arrived, shortly after the suspects fled out the back door of the business.
Suspects are believed to be 2 young, black males, wearing black hoodies, no other information was available, at the time publication.
Updates will be posted as they become available, as the MPD investigation continues.

This has got to stop! Every time you turn around something is being robbed/burglarized. It wasn’t like that when we first moved here years ago.
This is becoming a common problem in Monticello. Seems that Monticello rides on the tail of being the “only growing town” in south east arkansas but it appears that the “growth” is nothing but a bunch of thugs running rampant in the town. Thank God I am gone from the area and my kids are out of this town.
This is so sad. I hope that the young men are caught and punished. Thank GOD no one was hurt or injured.
