Arkansas Reservoir Plan Bass Management Plan: Public Input Meeting September 1st
August 30th, 2022 by AGFThe Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is finalizing a process to develop a statewide Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan. This plan provides broad guidance on policies addressing the complex management challenges and issues related to producing desirable fishing experiences for black bass in Arkansas’s lakes and reservoirs. The plan results from a collaboration between the AGFC and a Stakeholder Advisory Committee (citizen volunteers representing a cross-section of black bass fishing interests). It includes management goals that reflect stakeholder values, specific objectives designed to attain each goal, and potential general strategies for achieving objectives. The plan provides broad guidance for the AGFC Commissioners and AGFC staff for managing black bass in Arkansas’s lakes and reservoirs.
The AGFC is conducting public meetings around the state to gather public input on the Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan. These public meetings are in an open house format, so individuals can attend as long as they wish (there is no formal presentation). The public meeting for South East Arkansas is September 1st, 6:00-7:30 PM at the AGFC Monticello Regional Office, 771 Jordan Drive, Monticello, AR 71655.
While we would enjoy having in-person conservations with everyone, we understand that some might not be able to attend these public meetings. For those who cannot participate in one of these public meetings, we encourage you to review the management plan and provide comments here: Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan Survey.
