Arkansas Mission of Mercy, ARMOM, Returning to Monticello, May 20-21 – Volunteers Needed
February 24th, 2016 by iPhoneARMOM, a Free Dental Clinic, sponsored by the Arkansas Dental Association, will be returning to Monticello, on May 20-21, to be held at UAM Gibson Center.
Dentists from all around the state will combine their skills for a tremendous cost-free dental clinic, for residents from all across the state, who need dental care.
When ARMOM was in Monticello, in 2010, 1,254 patients were treated, 3,001 teeth were extracted, and thousand’s of fillings were done. The value of the services that were provided for free would have cost, $760,000.
125 dentist and 798 volunteers made the event possible.
Many volunteers are needed to help in many “untrained” positions, such as escorting patients to their locations, among many other helpful tasks.
Dr. Tim Chase made the announcement at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
Updates on the event and how/where to volunteer will be posted, when that information becomes available.
