Approximately 25.6 Pounds Of Pills Gathered At Annual Pill Take Back
October 1st, 2015 by SubmittedThe annual state wide pill take back was held September 26th at the Walmart parking lot in Monticello. Approximately 25.6 pounds of prescription pills were turned over to the sheriff’s department and the Monticello Police Department personnel.
Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober says the annual event allows citizens to bring expired, unused and unwanted medication to local law enforcement for safe destruction.
This will help to keep unwanted and expired pills out of the hands of our youth and keeps our environment cleaner by a safe disposal method.
As a reminder there is a permanent pill drop box located at the Monticello Police Department that citizens may use to drop off unwanted prescriptions at anytime throughout the year.
