Another Local Man Arrested on Rape Charges
March 5th, 2012 by Joe BurgessAccording to Drew County Shriff Mark Gober, on February 25 the Drew County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by dispatch advising that there was a woman at the Monticello Police Department who was reporting that she had been raped. The victim told deputies that at approximately 1:20 am, Keith Lewis, age 47 of Monticello, knocked at her front door. She stated that she told Lewis that she was not going to let him in and that is when he busted the window and entered the residence. Lewis then allegedly ripped the victim’s shirt off of her and raped her four times.
A bench warrant was issued for Keith Lewis and he was arrested the same day. Lewis is being charged with kidnapping, rape, and residential burglary. He was taken for a first appearance on February 27 where he was given a bond of $20,000.

Why was his bond so much lower than the other guys
I, too, am wondering about the differences in the bond.
Drugs and alcohol are destroying this country. Wonder if drugs and/or alcohol were involved in this case and the previous one.
