An Important Message from Monticello Medical Clinic
July 10th, 2017 by iPhone
Dear Monticello Medical Clinic patients and community members,
We would like to thank our loyal customers for their patience and understanding during the recent months.
We would also like to update you on the steps we are taking to improve your care.
First, we have added three new providers in the past year. Dr. James Atkins is a board-certified pediatrician who provides both outpatient and inpatient services for children from birth to age 21. Ms. Amanda Bickford APN and Mr. Anthony Rodriguez APN, are nurse practitioners, who see patients in conjunction with the Monticello Medical Clinic physicians.
As many of you are aware, Dr. Sylvia Simon has been undergoing treatment for cancer. Her recovery has been more difficult and slower than initially anticipated, but she is still expected to make a full recovery and return to practice at some point. Your prayers, support and understanding have been sincerely appreciated.
Our second goal is to streamline and speed up the check-in process. More data collection than ever before is now required due to government mandated electronic medical records. While there are some advantages to the computer age, it has definitely complicated the practice of medicine. We must now have more than double the number of computers, as well as wiring and cable lines to accommodate the computers. We will be building a completely new check-in area and remodeling some parts of our existing clinic. Now that school is out for the summer, we have started our construction.
We did not want to contribute to the traffic congestion in the area during the school year.
Our third objective is to improve access to care when a patient is acutely ill.
In the near future, we will be opening the MMC After- Hours Care Clinic to see sick patients on evenings and weekends.
Hopefully, this will help improve access for non-emergency care and will save you both time and expense. We are planning to open it later this
month, in the building next door to our main office.
We sincerely hope that these improvements help improve access to care for all our patients.
We appreciate your time and patience during this growth and restructuring.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jay Connelly,
Dr. Michael Fakouri,
Dr. Julia Nicholson,
Dr. Tim Simon,
Dr. Sylvia Simon
Blessed to have such amazing, caring doctors that make a person feel like they are the only patient in their busy patient world. I love going to see my home-grown doctor, Julia Nicholson. The wait is worth it for me!
I, for one, greatly appreciate the Monticello Medical Clinic for your high quality care and service to our community. Not many communities in southeast Arkansas have the number of highly qualified and caring doctors and nurses that Monticello Medical Clinic has available for our residents. As the Monticello area and your clinic have grown, it is natural to experience growing pains, but I feel very confident in going to Monticello Medical Clinic for all of my health needs. I appreciate the changes that you are putting into place for the betterment of our community.
Sincerely,
Trudy Jackson
I can tell you it’s a blessing to have such good doctors caring for our community. I’ve seen what inadequate Healthcare can do to communities and am grateful oour community doesn’t have that problem. Thank you for always doing your best for us.
We are blessed to have the quality healthcare professionals and facilities that we have available to us in Drew County.
You all are worth the wait!
