Alexander Seeks Board of Directors Seat for Drew Central Schools
February 14th, 2022 by Joe BurgessKeith R. Alexander has announced that he will be seeking a seat on the Drew Central School Board in 2022.
Alexander is a 1969 graduate of Hayti North High School in Hayti, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee in 1974, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grambling State University in 1980, and an Advanced Degree/Specialist in Educational Administration from Louisiana Tech University in 1983. Alexander has served 44 years in education as a Teacher, Coach, Central Office Supervisor, Junior High Principal, High School Principal, Superintendent of Schools in Louisiana and Arkansas, and most recently as the Assistant Executive Director of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association. While working with the LHSAA, Alexander chaired numerous state and nationalcommittees including serving as the Chief Administrator of the National Association of Sports Officials which Louisiana hosted in July, 2018. Alexander was inducted in the Louisiana High School Hall of Fame as an Administrator and Official in 2019. Alexander serves as a Football Officials’ Observer for the Great American Football Conference and the Louisiana High School Officials’ Association. He also serves as a NCAA Football Officials’ Observer. Alexander and his wife, Jean, reside in the New Hope Community. She is a retired music and art teacher serving 43 years in Louisiana and Arkansas. They have been married 48 years and have three children, Brad and his wife April of Monticello, Brian ofMonticello, and daughter Michelle of Tucson, Arizona. They have two granddaughters, MacKenzie age 23 ofBozeman, Montana and Mary age 17 of Monticello, Arkansas. Keith and Jean are members of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where Keith serves as a Deacon, Music Worship Leader and Sunday School Teacher.
“I believe these are crucial times that require us to havequalified, experienced leaders that are involved in the education of our young people,” Alexander said. “I would welcome any thoughts concerning our educational system and ask for your vote in the upcoming election.”
