October 15th, 2020 by Joe Burgess
After 31 years, Tony Barnette is retiring from UPS and the “Hamburg Route.“
Several members of the community, including many on his delivery route, came together last Friday, to throw him a retirement party.
He received a call to come to City Hall to pick up a package, where he actually received a cake, decorated like a UPS package.
Shown here is a huge retirement card, signed by many members of the Hamburg community,
Tony’s wife, Linda was also present.
Tony was caught totally offguard, by the surprise party.
Even though he lives in McGehee, Tony has been an important part of the Hamburg community for decades.
