Monticello Woman Arrested Twice Friday, After Assaulting Beautician, Setting House on Fire, & Punching Family Member
October 4th, 2011 by Joe BurgessA Monticello woman was arrested Friday, around noon, after MPD responded to a call reporting that she had attacked a local beautician. The woman was charged with battery, and bonded out of jail, upon being taken to the County Detention Facility.
But that wasn’t the only time she was arrested, that day.
Tracy Green, age 41, of East Jacison St., drew the attention of local authorities around 7 o’clock, Friday night, when they were called to the scene of a house fire on East Jackson St. when they arrived, Green reportedly was overheard telling someone that she had set the fire. Although she hasn’t been charged with arson, at this time, she was arrested at the scene of the fire and charged with 3rd degree battery and 3rd degree domestic battery, for punching a family member at the scene of the fire.
Damage to the modile home was reportedly mostly contained to a bathroom.
District Judge Ken Harper, at Green’s first appearance hearing set her bond at $4,850 with a cash bond, Monday.
As of Tuesday morning, Green remains in the custody of the Drew County Detention Facility.

She needs help. Please get her the help that she needs. It’s obvious that she isn’t in her right mind.
Anger issues? She definitely needs help but in the interim, let’s keep her locked up so that she can cool off for a bit.
See that’s what I’m talking about.People love to jump the gun you don’t know her.She don’t need to be locked up.She does need help.
Hello I have known Mrs. Tracey for at least 3 years, and she doesn’t need lock down, in the sense of Jail but SHE NEEDS HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any one that sets fire to a house and tells some one they done it. Hello there is something wrong with them. It could have been a child in there. She need more than help and needs to stay locked up. I had rather jump the gun and save the next person than see some one or some ones home get burned down next time.
Really!!! I sit here in shock, by the comments i have read concerning this issue. If you don’t know a person, or know the details of a certain situation you should not speak on it, or “comment” on it. Thats whats wrong with the world now, and last but not least, with “Monticello”, in GENERAL. ALways ASSUMING, but never really knowing whats going on. I will leave by saying this: For every action is a reaction, proven fact. For every oipinion is another! Get the facts before judging, because really we as people can never JUDGE NOR SENTENCE another about any situation, it only leaves us as ASSSESSS in the END……. SO be careful what you say!!
what being myself turn her loose so she can set another house on fire.next time it mite be someone traped inside maybe you.do you want that.
FOLKZ REALLY SHUDNT HAV ANYTHING 2 SAY IF DEY DONT KNO D SITUATION
If beating up a beautician and setting fire to a home doesn’t prove she needs to be locked up or put away, than I don’t know what does…and “BEING MYSELF” I don’t know her…and so glad I don’t. She is dangerous.
Some of you people need to keep your negative comments to yourself,
i’ve known this woman all my life and she would give you the cloths off back to anyone if needed and has feed everyone she knows, but at this time she is very sick and needs help
Scott, I agree with you. She even told someone at the scene that she set the fire. And if she really were in her right mind, I believe not only should she have done none of this, she would have kept it to herself. I wouldn’t want to admit that I was responsible for something like that. She’s obviously messed up.
FOLKS NEED TO KEEP DER SMART COMMENTS 2 DER SELF IF DEY DONT KNO MS. GREEN SITUATION. AND I DONT THINK SHE SHUD B LOCKED UP. @ LEROY IT WAS HER OWN HOUSE U ACT LIKE SHE JUST GUIN AROUND SETTIN FOLKS HOMES ON FIRE
SAVE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS….SHE’S ILL. SHE SHOULDN’T BE IN JAIL FOR BEING SICK. AT THIS POINT SHE DOES NOT KNOW SHE CAUSED THIS AND SHE’S CURRENTLY GETTING HELP…THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE RUINING HER CHARACTER.
I know no one want a family member or friend to go to jail. Sometimes that’s the best place for them until they get the needed help. Her being in jail protects society as well as the girl. I am praying for this young lady.
Yall dont know whats she’s been through.. She hasn’t always been this way. Someone could’ve did this to her to make her this way. Think about if you were the one behind bars. People thinking you’re crazy.. Do you think thats fair? Some people just need to shut up… Like my mom always told me if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything at all.. She has a daughter and you people are talking down on her mom. Think about if it was your child. THINK BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING.
just being honest: You need to go back to school. Nuthing you say is right and no one can understand any of what your putting on here. That is not ENGLISH
Since when was commiting a crime a “sickness”? Where do we draw the line? Where is the responsibility for one’s own actions? I think instead of offering “help”, she should be told that she is going to have to take responsiblilty for her actions. Plain and simple. Stop making excuses for people doing something wrong, and let them get what is coming to them.
