City Released from 8 year old Environmental Order from Department of Environmental Quality
May 10th, 2024 by Joe BurgessThe City of Monticello received notification that it has been released from a longstanding consent administrative order, or CAO, from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality after being under the order since 2016.
The order was issued in 2016 to the city for several reasons, including
• Operation & maintenance violations cited in 3/10/2015 inspection
• Effluent violations
• Failure to conduct analysis (12/2014 & 6/2015)
• Late submittal of permit renewal application
• Operating without Industrial Stormwater permit coverage
Amendment 001 to the order cited further violations:
• Violations cited during 5/9/2017 inspections
• Various effluent violations
