“ One Ditch at a Time”
September 19th, 2023 by Joe BurgessMonticello Public Works crews continue to work to improve storm drainage runoff. One of this weeks projects is in the area of East Jackson and Watts Streets. City Crews located a clogged culvert that impeded storm water runoff and caused water to often rise over Jackson Street and cover the road. The flooding of yards of nearby residents has occurred repeatedly over the years.
Crews widened and deepened the overgrown ditch to its original width and depth and will continue to work to improve the flow through to Watts Street, where the water can drain more efficiently.
