Calling for Support: Help Special Education Make Quilts for a Worthy Cause
June 1st, 2023 by AJ HuffmanDear Community,
We reach out to you today with a heartfelt request for your support in an inspiring project initiated by our special education program. Our dedicated students, who possess unique abilities and challenges, have embarked on a creative endeavor to make quilts. These beautiful and meaningful quilts serve as symbols of love, unity, and compassion, and we are reaching out to our community for donations of materials or any other resources that could aid us in fulfilling this noble endeavor.
A Project with a Purpose:
The quilts our special education students create are more than just beautiful works of art. Each quilt is carefully crafted to provide warmth and comfort to those in need, and they serve as tokens of appreciation and support for individuals who are facing difficult circumstances. By participating in this project, our students not only enhance their artistic skills but also develop a sense of empathy and social responsibility.
How You Can Help:
Donating Materials: We kindly request donations of quilting materials such as fabric, batting, thread, and notions. These supplies are crucial for our students to create their quilts. Even small remnants or scraps of fabric can be utilized creatively, so please do not hesitate to contribute whatever you can spare.
Providing Equipment: Sewing machines, rotary cutters, cutting mats, and rulers are essential tools that facilitate the quilting process. If you have any of these items that are no longer in use, we would be grateful for your donation. Additionally, any spare needles, pins, scissors, or other sewing accessories would be greatly appreciated.
Monetary Donations: If you are unable to donate materials or equipment, monetary contributions would be of immense help. These funds will be used to purchase necessary quilting supplies or cover other expenses associated with the project, ensuring its continuity and success.
Spreading the Word: Help us reach more people by sharing this request with friends, family, and colleagues. By expanding our network, we increase the chances of obtaining the resources needed to make a lasting impact on our students’ lives and the lives of those who receive their beautiful quilts.
