Helicopter Hovers Over Hyatt Field “Blow Drying” Playing Surface

October 24th, 2009 by

Anonymous supporters offered the Monticello School District the chance to have Hyatt Field dried out by having a helicopter hover over the muddy playing surface, Friday afternoon, at no expense to the district.

  1. Shane Glass says:

I’m inclined to consider this a little extreme.

  2. Weevil01 says:

    Did it work??

Response: It seems to have helped some, the center of the field was in much better condition than the sideline area. I can’t estimate how much, but I think that it definitely helped.

    Wonderful idea.

  4. billiebacker98 says:

monticello needs more supporters like this!!!

  5. Royce Dickerson says:

I think this person deserves free tickets for life.

  6. Sharon says:

    Awesome!!!

  7. Drew says:

Alright people…Let’s face facts…That’s hopped the line into “ridiculous”…It’s only football. God forbid a game be postponed, so let’s bring in a helicopter. And, moreover, it’s HIGH SCHOOL football. It’s almost worse than the fact that duct tape is holding together a building downtown.

  8. Monticello Alum says:

Being there was no expense to the district, what does it matter? Our tax money was not used. “Anonymous supporters” can spend their money however they want, just as any of us can spend our paycheck in any fashion we desire.

  9. UENVYME says:

How about saying thanks, instead of being so ungrateful!?
I think it was a very kind act the man did and he should be thanked for it not ridiculed for it. !

  10. Shelley Smith says:

Am I the only one who didn’t know something like that was even possible?

Small town Arkansans are serious about their football, lol!

  11. Mark Mason says:

Why would anyone object to the act of a Good Samaritan?

  12. out of towner says:

They did the same thing at a couple of other Arkansas high school games – Bryant for one. Drew, it was a nice gesture – we need more of these. People in Monticello are beginning to absolutely amaze me.

Fordyce and Rison does this all the time during playoffs and I think the schools pay for it. Thanks to whoever made this happen. Football is king in South Arkansas.

  15. another_random_person says:

    Drew is right

  16. Joe Burgess says:

The helicopter comments have run their course, with both sides being covered adequately.
