Drew Memorial Health System Hires Dr. Gregory Stephens for Reflections and IOP Departments.
October 5th, 2022 by SubmittedDrew Memorial Health System has contracted with Dr. Gregory Stephens, M.D., J.D to provide mental health services to our region.
In his new role, Stephens, along with Keeanndase Pace, Psychiatric APRN, will provide mental healthcare that embodies patient-first values, which are vital to Drew Memorials’ mission.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Stephens to our team,” said Pamela Leeper, Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at DMHS. “This will allow our mental health services to expand past the realm of geriatric care, where we will be able to provide mental health services to all ages.”
Stephens and Pace are both natives of Arkansas, and well versed in the societal demand/need for mental health services. Dr. Stephens is a 1980 graduate of Harvard University. He came back to Arkansas and went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas in 1984. After practicing law for a number of years, Dr. Stephens returned to school and obtained his M.D. from the University of Arkansas, School of Medicine in 2002. He carried out his Psychiatric Residency at LSU-HSC Shreveport from 2005-2010. Dr. Stephens has been providing psychiatry services to Arkansans for more than 10 years.
Alongside Dr. Stephens, Keeanndase Pace, Psych APRN, will serve our facility well. In 2015, Pace earned her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Southeast Arkansas College. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University, where she became a Registered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-BC. Before becoming an APRN, Pace worked as a registered nurse and Hospital Supervisor in a Little Rock Psychiatric Hospital. Her knowledge, experience, and focus on mental health align with our desire to expand mental health services.
Patients of all ages can schedule an outpatient appointment with Dr. Stephens in our Transitions Department, while our inpatient unit, Reflections, is an inpatient option for patients age 60 and older who meet criteria. As our new Psychiatrist, Dr. Stephens, with Keeandase will provide comprehensive individualized care to patients to meet their psychiatric and physical needs.
