Fire Truck Collides with Turning Pick-Up on South Main
May 17th, 2021 by Joe BurgessAt 1:30, Sunday afternoon, the Monticello Fire Department was responding to a fire on Highway 425 South.
As the fire truck was traveling down South Main, a Ford pick-up slowed down in the southbound lane. As the fire truck went into the left lane, the Ford turned left, toward Willis Street, and was hit by the fire truck.
The Ford came to rest above the bridge on South Main St. and the fire truck overturned in the creek, likely dumping around 1200 foot of fire hose, in the process.
MASI transported 2 occupants of the Ford to DMH, another person was carried by personal vehicle.
