County QC Approves Contract for Regional Jail, 8-0 at Special-Called Meeting – Video

During Monday night’s special called quorum court meeting, JP‘s asked several questions about the Regional Jail‘s policies, regulations and procedures, especially the contract with the state and counties.
The only question that did not get a clear answer dealt with transportation to the facility from law-enforcement. That issue will have to be worked out as a location is confirmed.
Judge Bruce Anderson was the only person aside from QC members to speak, as he addressed the need for more local jail space.
The vote to accept the contracts for the Regional Jail passed 8-0, with one member absent.
Construction should be completed in 18-24 months.
