City Council Postpones Renaming HWY 278 “Martin Luther King Dr.,” Votes 6-2 to Form Committee to Make Recommendation – Video
January 23rd, 2019 by iPhoneAfter a brief discussion, councilmember Craig McRae made the motion to form a committee to discuss the most appropriate way to handle this situation, describing it as “feels like it doesn’t feel right”, and being “hastily done”.
The council voted 6-2, with Aldermen Cedric Leonard and Al Peer being the only two opposing, to send it to be decided by a committee appointed by the mayor. That committee will the then present a recommendation back to the council.
