Armed Robbery at (the other) EZ-Mart

Just after 3:30, Tuesday morning, 3 unidentified, hooded black males robbed the E-Mart convenience store on Hyatt Street.
2 employees were on duty at the store, when the robbery occurred. No one was injured during the robbery, where one of the suspects displayed a handgun.
The 3 suspects, fled south on foot, across Gaines Street, as they ran from the scene.
This is the 2nd EZ-Mart robbery
, in Monticello, in less than a week. The HWY 425 Soutb EZ-Mart was robbed around midnight, Thursday.
Anyone who may have seen any suspicious persons or vehicles around this time, is asked to call MPD at 367-3411.

many years ago in Pulaski county there was a sheriff…..Tommy Robinson. Southwest little rock was experiencing a wave of robberies in the convenience stores. the sheriff posted officers randomly in the back rooms of some of these stores, armed with shot guns. There was a poster by the front door of all the stores depicting an officer with a shot gun, a warning to the would-be robbers. You never knew when, or which store or stores the posted officer would be. Arrests were made and the incidence of armed robberies decreased in this area. I know this is radical and I am not praising tommy robinson. But I am curious if this would work here?
If people would start arming themselves and actually USE their firearms against these people who continue to TERRORIZE everyone, nothing is going to change. In fact, until the justice/criminal system is revamped and these people are actually punished and forced to suffer actual consequences for their actions, there’s no reason to stop committing crime.
I know, I know. Criminals are human beings too and that’s exactly my point. You start punishing them and even worse, putting bullets in their heads for robbing you; I guarantee you, some of them will start thinking twice about who they plan to rob or not. Because this is getting ridiculous.
Anon, my thoughts exactly!!! Until we change, they won’t change. These people need to be told their idiots instead of everyone wanting to say, “That’s mean.” No, it’s honest! Oh, but wait, honesty makes people mad these days.
