Pick-up Crashes into Log Truck

A Dodge pick-up pulled into the path of a log truck, around 3 PM, Monday, in Wilmar.
The log truck’s trailer collided with the pick-up as it went by.
The accident occurred hwy 278 W., and the pick up came to a stop across from Wilmar Baptist Church.
Arkansas State Troopers worked the accident scene, assisted by the Drew County Sheriffs Department. The Monticello Fire and Rescue team was paged out to extricate the victim from the truck. Drew County OEM and C&L Wrecker also responded.
HWY 278 was detoured during the clean-up process.
According to sources, the driver of the Dodge was transported by SEEMS to JRMC, where he is recovering from the accident.
A rescue helicopter was requested at the scene, but was not readily available, so the victim was transported by ambulance.
