Letter to the Editor – “To All Democrats, “
February 20th, 2013 by SubmittedThis is a call for help from the local Democrats in Southeast Arkansas. Where are you? Why are you not speaking out for your constituents and their firearms? Do something! Is the little “Ole” TEA Party left to speak for the Second Amendment? We have a crisis and the best I can tell, you have been silent. Our Second Amendment to the Constitution is being trampled. Please tell your party we do not want more gun control. And, while you are at it let all of us know (loud and clear) what you are doing. Please help us on this issue.
If you are a constituent like me, please tell these folks you agree with me.
Thank you for reading

I disagree with you. The 2nd Amendment is in reference to a “Well regulated militia”, meaning regulation & control.
The 2nd amendment says: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Definition of militia: A militia (pron.: /m??l???/),[1] or irregular army, generally refers to an army or other fighting force that is composed of non-professional fighters; citizens of a nation or subjects of a state

ARTravlr is right. It should be harder to buy a deadly weapon than it is to buy a beer at Panorama or the River–or to register to vote. Background checks to make it more difficult for criminals or mentally ill folks to buy guns are hardly an awful infringement on our Second Amendment rights.
