Storm Damage Photos
January 30th, 2013 by Joe BurgessTuesday night’s severe thunderstorms, accompanied by reported 60 MPH wind gusts, produce a wide range of storm damage across Drew County.
UAM’s horse barn, used to house the rodeo team’s collegiate competition horses, was destroyed by the strong winds, but no animals were reportedly injured.
Flooding took place on several roadways, including HWY 138, where long sections of the eastbound lane were covered by water and waves.
Lightening stuck a house (or near a house) causing a 17 year old female to be shocked. She was checked by EMTs at the scene, but didn’t require further medical care.
The silver sedan, shown here, ran off the roadway, during the 9 pm heavy rain, into a flooding ditch at Willis and S. Main St. Two responding officials were able to push the vehicle back into a shallower area, and rescue to woman.

If they would put in some cross culverts under 138 to where the water would be even in both road ditches like most places do, this water issue would not be nearly as bad.
When the south side has all the ditches, kinda makes the east bound lane a waterway in lots of rain.
