Thursday night, Drew County Deputy Jeremy Chapman noticed a 2004 Mustang traveling the wrong way on East Gaines Street.  The deputy was able to flag down the vehicle and make a traffic stop.

As Deputy Chapman approached the car, he noticed the smell of un-burned marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Deputy Rex Davis was arriving in the scene about the time that Deputy Chapman asked the driver to step out of the vehicle.  When the driver got out, Chapman noticed a small amount of marijuana in the seat.  Deputy Davis arrested the driver, Tovoris Wilson, of Little Rock, at that time.

A passenger in the Mustang, Christopher D. Thomas, told officers at the scene that the weed was his, and that he only had a small amount.  Thomas was then arrested.  Thomas, also from Little Rock, is reportedly an UAM student.  Thomas also had a large amount of cash in his front jean’s pocket.

While performing a search of the vehicle, deputies also found bags of a green leafy substance, scales, and baggies in the vehicle.  Nearly $1,000 was confiscated during the arrest.

Both men were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wilson was also charged with DWI-drugs, driving on the wrong side of the road, and refusing test.

Both were taken to the Drew County Detention Facility, and have since bonded out.
