8 Year Old MIS Student Rocks Supercross Challenge in Arlington, TX
February 27th, 2019 by iPhoneCrayton Harris attended the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge Saturday February 16, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in front of 50k plus Supercross fans.
Crayton along with 14 others that were selected by KTM to race at this particular round of Supercross along with the pro’s had a BLAST. These young racers were treated like Pro’s for the day and were able to practice & race on the supercross race track just like the pros. They were given a factory race rig, 2019 factory dirt bikes , race mechanics, security, full race day obligations, autograph sessions, practice sessions and a 3 lap main event for the day .
Crayton Harris age 8 of Monticello ended up with a top 5 overall finish placing 5th place Overall. Crayton was the only child from Arkansas to place in the top 5. There were only two kids from Arkansas selected for this particular round. Kids are selected from all over the US for each round (10 rounds per supercross year / 15 riders per round).
Crayton was able to meet a TON of his favorite riders, tour the Pro factory rigs, mechanics areas and they were all given a special set of new gear made for this program only along with other products by companies that support Motocross as a perk of being selected into the KTM JR SX Program.
This was a once in a lifetime event and Crayton says he is so Blessed to have been selected to be apart of the program. He was so excited to come home and watch the race on Television and see himself racing on TV. Since returning home he was able to give a presentation to his third grade class where his classmates were allowed to ask Crayton questions they had about racing and his experience this past weekend. He has had a blast feeling like a hometown celebrity.
He is now ready to get back to training and working hard to prepare for Spring Nationals coming up in Texas the week of Spring Break, Loretta Lynn Qualifiers and the 2019 Racing Season in general that is just a few weeks away. He greatly appreciates all of the support he has received and he looks forward to representing Monticello & the state of Arkansas everywhere he goes in this sport!
Thank You!
