8 Year Old MIS Student Competing in KTM Junior Supercross Challenge in Arlington, TX
February 15th, 2019 by iPhoneCrayton Harris age 8 of Monticello was selected as 1 of 15 riders to competeĀ in the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge in Arlington, TX, Saturday.
Crayton is the son of Dustin & Laci Harris. He is a third grade student at MIS and is active in his awana group at Shady Grove Church in Monticello. He loves racing and has won several series in several states including Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Crayton has competed at a national level at Loretta Lynn’s ranch in Tennessee and is hoping to earn his ticket back to the ranch again this summer. He is very aware the older he gets the harder the competition is going to be and he is willing to work as hard as he can to earn his ticket back and continue placing well in the series he competes in .

Information on the KTM Challenge: KTM will sponsor each rider with a 2019 KTM 50 SR Dirt Bike for this race along with a full day of factory support for the rider & family (includes but not limited to: rider mechanics, gear, KTM JRSX Factory Semi, track walk, practice sessions, autograph sessions for the KTM Challenge riders , meet & greets with pro riders) . Each rider will receive VIP treatment and feel as though they are one of the Pro’s for a day. The winner of this race will move on to race in October 2019 in Las Vegas at the Monster Energy – Monster Cup Race .
How the riders are selected:
Riders must submit a full rider resume including racing results that include at least but not limited to one full year of racing results, doctor/nurses letter confirming height & weight of rider, copy of school report card as grades MUST be in good standings, links to all of the riders Social media accounts and riders racing videos as well as the riders birth certificates all for review. Thousands of riders may submit for each round however there are only a limited number of KTM Challenge rounds each season at limited tracks throughout the Supercross season available. If your application goes past the approval point your name then goes into a pool where KTM then randomly selects the lucky 15 riders for the available rounds that you apply for.
(10 rounds total available for the full season and 15 riders per round selected ) .
Crayton was Blessed to receive a call from KTM congratulating him on being Selected for the February 16th race at AT&T – also known as Cowboy Stadium to many in Arlington, TX! The race will be televised and portions of Crayton’s race will be on TV as well as the winners on the podium being interviewed. Prayers are greatly appreciated for Crayton and everyone racing this weekend as this will be a HUGE event in front of around 50K+ people.
