Arkansas Midland bid $ 11,000 to build the crossing over the rail lines.
It is expected that the contractor will charge around $200,000 to construct the roadway from the current road to the railway, and then another 150 foot across into suthern field across the railway.
Boring under the racks for water, sewer, and data lines, along with their encasements being installed, will be done later, as other funds hopefully become available.
The bid for the 750,000 gallon water tank had been advertised, and will be open soon.
After our earlier discussion, is a strong possibility that the first likely industry in the facility will need 1,000,000 gallons of water, daily.
Although the industrial side has water supply from the city of Monticello, is a strong likelihood that 1,000,000 gallons will not be available daily, thereby causing the need to drill a well at the industrial site.
A study will produce a flow chart to determine the actual amount of water available.
The decision was made to continue with the bid process for the 750,000 gallon tank; then use a change order if a 1,000,000 or 1,500,000 gallon tank is needed.
Tank construction is expected to take 6 to 12 months.
The expected construction cost of f the water tower range from $2-3 million. This estimate includes funding contributed by the DRA and EDA programs.
It is expected that this will cost the cities and counties an estimated “$175,000-$200,000, each.”
