530/35 Intersection Claims another Vehicle
August 23rd, 2016 by iPhoneThe intersection of 530/35 West was once again this reason for a potentially serious car crash, around midnight, Tuesday night.
The driver of a northbound Toyota Corolla did not see the stop sign in time, launching her vehicle into the trees on the north side of Highway 35 East.
The young lady was able to exit her vehicle, through the broken back windshield, of her car, as it laid on its side. During the Toyotas path into the wooded area, it broke a large tree into, with its treetop falling on top of the Corolla, making it difficult to find in the midnight darkness.
Drew County Sheriffs deputies eventual located hidden the vehicle, which was removed from the scene by Reggie’s Wrecker.
The driver had found her way to the unlit highway, and was able to draw the attention of a passing motorist, who called for police and SEEMS, who transported her to Drew Memorial Hospital.

Maybe the highway department should put a blinking stop sign there like the one that they put up between Monticello and star city on the new road that was open up there.
I agree a blinking light would be good or a warning stop sign ahead sign. or better yet some type of lighting at the intersection like a street light.
