The most impressive factor that took place during the weekends activities was the massive police presence in Drew county, by ALL law enforcement agencies in the area.

An estimated 40 law enforcement officers were stationed at, or near the rally site, patrolling throughout the city and county, or staged near where potential trouble sites.

In 30 years of radio an news coverage, I have never seen as thorough of a police presence as Drew county was protected with, Saturday night.

We all should join together in appreciation of our dedicated officers who stepped out into what was rumored to be a race war, to protect us.

Many thanks go out to the Drew County Sheriff’s Department, Monticello Police Department, Arkansas State Police/Troopers, Arkansas Game and Fish officers, the DTF unit, OEM staff, and UAM police,
as well as staff from the Chicot County Sheriff’s Office and OEM.

Thank you, officers, for protecting our citizens and our community.
