4 Juveniles Arrested for Theft of Truck from Church Parking Lot
August 28th, 2014 by iPhoneWhile members of First United Methodist Church were enjoying a Wednesday evening meal together, 4 juveniles allegedly stole the truck belong to one of them, from the church parking lot.
When Monticello Police receive the call around 5:45, they began searching for the vehicle,
assisted by sheriff’s deputies and a DTF officer.
An MPD detective located the stolen vehicle around 6:00; and began a short pursuit on Mill and Gaines Streets.
A Sheriffs Deputy stopped the stolen Ford truck at the intersection near Big Jax, and the suspects fled on foot. The deputy took the driver into custody, and the other three suspects, were also quickly apprehended by the responding officers.
The vehicle was returned to its owner, undamaged.
The 4 juveniles, in their mid to lower teens, have been turned over to the state’s juvenile detention system.

Do some people just wake up some morning and think, “Today, I think I will do something crazy so I can go to jail.”? What were they thinking?
I hope the young people, if first offenders, get probation and not jail time. But I have to wonder why they think stealing if okay?
