4 Break-ins to Bowser Road Vehicles, Saturday. Suspect Arrested in Area.

August 21st, 2012 by

A Sheridan man, recently moved to Monticello, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with 4 counts of breaking & entering of vehicles.

The crimes occurred overnight in the Bowser Road area, and Brent Bowden, age 21,  was arrested before two of the victims noticed the thefts.

The stolen property was recovered, and returned to the rightful owners.

Bowden, currrently on parole for commercial burglary, was held for a bond hearing on Monday, and has since been released.

Sheriff Mark Gober wants to remind everyone to lock your car doors, and to report suspicious activity to law enforcement, to help solve, reduce, and prevent Drew County crime.

  1. tax payer says:

    What was his Bond? $50.

    Wonder where he stole it.

  2. Wondering says:

Why did this not revoke his parole?? Why was he RELEASED???

RESPONSE: Parole office was notified, but no parole hold or revokation was issued. Joe B.

  3. Thud says:

    Welcome to Drew county!

  4. Jimmy Spurlin says:

Why was the bond for theft so low? It seems to me this is a serious offense and should require a bond that reflects that. I believe the bond would have been higher if there was a fine involved, but since it was only a citizen’s personal property that was stolen the was no motivation to bring a higher bond into play. Really $50.00 come on! I also believe that the individual responsible for issuing a hold should be held accountable for failure to act in a responsible manner and an investigation should be initiated on the parole officer. This guy is probably laughing about the whole thing right now! (As he is stealing someone else s property)

  5. tracy says:

How much will he have to steal before he is locked back up? The parole system is really must up. I know a man that was on parole got caught drunk and has his parole revoked.

  6. Amy says:

Politics!!! It is election year! This is just wrong. Always slapping them on the hand like a little kid and saying ok don’t do it again! If I were a betting person he will be back in jail for the same thing in a few weeks.

  7. concerned taxpayer says:

Read the next story about him and see that there was NOT a bond. He got off ‘scott-free’ so he decides to steal a truck!!! This should let the authorities know that there is nothing they can do for him but lock him up for a habitial criminal and make him do the time. oh, but wait–that may be what he wants…A roof over his head, 3 meals a day, watch TV, NO work, air conditioning in summer and heat in the winter–NO BILLS…..
