3 Car Pile-up on 425 South – Unusual License Plate Involved
August 17th, 2014 by iPhone
A three vehicle pile-up occurred, shortly after noon , Thursday, on highway 425 S.
No one was injured when the three vehicles were traveling northbound in front of Atwoods, and came to a stop for traffic.
Sources and evidence on the scene indicate that the Honda Civic in the rear of the accident, collided with the back of a stopped Ford Explorer.
The Explorer, in turn, struck the Ford pick-up.
Monticello Police investigated the accident. Dan’s Wrecker towed the Honda.
At the scene, this reporter saw something he’d never seen before; The state-issued license plate on the Honda included the letters “TXT”, which is the texting abbreviation for “text.” That series of license plates are being issued out of Warren.
Note: The driver of the Honda told police she was not texting, and her phone was stored in her purse.
