3 am: Taco Bell & Old Warrants
November 4th, 2019 by iPhoneWhile most people are asleep at 3 AM, local officers from MPD and DCSO are still on duty. Here is a sample of an hour of what they do overnight.
At 3 PM, dispatch received a call reporting a suspicious person, near the car wash on 278 E., including a description.
Well MPD was following up on that call, a Highway 425 N. restaurant had an alarm go off for motion inside the business.
While a MPD officer searched for the suspicious person, another officer, assisted by a county deputy, responded to Taco Bell, where they found the door unlocked. The building was searched and cleared, then secured.
The officer who was searching for the suspicious person and found him, identified him, and took him to jail on outstanding warrants with old fines over $1000.
The other city officer returned to checking doors of businesses, leaving cards showing that he had been there and what time it was.
The deputy, who had responded from the Wilmar area, returned back to the county, patrolling until the next call would come in.
Although, this information may not be “news-breaking,” it is an important part of what keeps our community safe and secure, overnight, every night.
