Drug Arrest at Stalled Vehicle Report
August 11th, 2022 by Joe BurgessSaturday, DCSO deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle accident on US 165 near Jerome.
Upon arrival deputies discovered it was not an accident, but a broken down vehicle. Deputy Allen Edwards made contact with the driver, later identified as Willaim Hambers, age 59, of Jerome.
Hambers provided a name, but Deputy Edwards knew the name given from previous encounters with the individual and knew he was not the person standing in front of him. Hambers was then placed into custody and a wallet was found in his back pocket. A check of Hambers drivers license showed Parole and Probation had issued an absconder warrant (Failure to Comply) for Hambers.
During a search incident to arrest, a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine was found wrapped in foil inside a pack of cigarettes.
Hambers appeared before Judge Crews Puryear for a first appearance on the drug charges and his bond was set at $5,000.00 commercial.
