Regional Jail Could Become Drew County Jail, with 300 Federal & 200 State Inmates- Video
December 14th, 2021 by Joe BurgessJudge Akin said that if this is to take place, it will depend totally on federal prisoners.
Akin added it will not be run by LaSalle, they would only be consultants. The new jail will be supervised by the Drew County Sherriff.
Expectations could include 100+ employees,
$1.6 million county profit during the first 3-5 year contract,
300 federal prisoners
200 state prisoners
100 local prisoners.
