Kim Barnes Named DC Superintendent, after Serving as Interim
February 2nd, 2019 by iPhoneAfter the unexpected passing of Drew Central superintendent Billy Williams, last September, the board named assistant superintendent Kim Barnes as interim.
At their most recent meeting, Ms. Barnes was officially installed as a permanent superintendent for the school district.
The new superintendent has been in school administration for 23 years; 18 years at the district level in various capacities. Prior to administration, she taught third and fifth grade in Chapel Hill, Texas.
Barnes stated, “I am so honored and humbled to be the Superintendent of the Pirate Nation.”
