Local Election Results, Morning Update
November 7th, 2018 by iPhoneThe courthouse downstairs hallway was filled with candidates, friends and supporters, Tuesday evening. It stayed that way for several hours, well into the early morning hours.
However, due to the combined complications with the vote counting computer, printer, and voting machines purchased in 2005, most of the crowd left the courthouse still wondering how their candidate’s race ended.
It was 3 am, before most precinct’s results were posted on the hallway wall, since the totals had to be printed by a different computer, than the one that actually did the vote calculations.
The few remaining onlookers and media left the courthouse around 4 AM, so that the exhausted staff could get a fresh cup of coffee, before uploading the totals into the Secretary of State‘s system, in hopes of bringing the night to an end.
Here are the “final, but unofficial” results.
