Log Truck Wreck

Highway 35 W., near the Hunger Run area was partially blocked, Thursday around noon, due to a log truck wreck.

DCSO responded, the driver was taken to the hospital for injuries from the crash.

MFD Responds to Fire Near Lake

Monday, at approximately 6:15 AM, Monticello firefighters responded to a shed fire on Harris Road.

The shed was fully engulfed, and a total loss.

No injuries reported.

AAC Safety Awards Announced At Conference

AAC Loss Control Consultant Matt Bradshaw presents a 2024 Safety Award to Drew County Judge Jessie Griffin. Drew County scored 99 points on the 100-point grading system. Up to 15 bonus points are awarded to counties that provide a Job Hazard Analysis on more than two job classifications and that attended the May 2024 AAC Safety Conference. Drew County also had a loss ratio of 16 percent, well below the 50 percent threshold. Thirty-one Arkansas counties received the awards from the Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC) Worker’s Compensation program this year.
