Town Hall Summary about Main Armory Building

By far, most of the comments were about using the “motor pool building”, and those were all in favor of using it for animal control.
There were a couple of comments made about use of the armory……
Quorum Court member Carole Bulloch wants to use it for doctors offices.
Retired UAM professor Jerry Webb suggested using it for an evening youth center, or a food processing/caring operation.
Mayor David Anderson reported that it had been discussed as a potential location for law-enforcement/dispatch operations, as well as a Community center, which would be larger than the Sadie Johnson building, to be used for meetings and local events.
The main armory building is currently leased to Drew Memorial Health Systems, for storage during their construction project. This lease is expected to continue through June of next year.
The second town hall meeting at the Armory has been rescheduled, it will be held on July 28, at 7 PM.
