The Drew County Courthouse, Landfill, and Road Department will be closed Friday, January 1, 2021 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Friday’s County trash route will run along with Thursday’s route. There will be no other changes to the trash schedule for this week.

The Landfill will be open on Saturday, January 2nd, as it is the first Saturday of every month from 8:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

Parkwood and other nearby areas in Monticello have been without water service since yesterday. (more…)

According to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, The Monticello Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence on Willis Street last night where two people were injured due to the gunfire. Both of the injured persons were sent to Drew Memorial and transferred to other facilities and at last report were in stable condition. (more…)

During the fall meeting of the University of Arkansas at Monticell Board of Visitors, three new officers were elected. Mellie Jo Owen of Monticello will serve as chairperson, J. Michael Jones of Dumas will serve as vice chair, and Roger George of Warren will serve as secretary of the board. (more…)
