Last week, the Drew County Log-a-Load for Kids presented a check to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for $120,000.

The money was raised at the annual August event in Monticello and at the Southwest Forest Producers Expo that was held in late August.

Due to the holiday season, the City of Monticello has announced that dumpsters will be located at City Park, for extra trash.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello presented a posthumous heavy equipment operator technical certificate to the late Mark Ellis of Monticello during December commencement on Saturday. Jim Ellis (left), a 2006 UAM CIS graduate and brother of the late Mr. Ellis, accepted the certificate from UAM Chancellor Karla Hughes.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello presented a posthumous bachelor of arts degree in communications with a minor in political science to the late Ronnie Curry of Crossett during December commencement on Saturday.
