Congratulations to Maggie Hand for winning 1st place and a gold medal in the 2014 Skills Competition in Medical Math that was held this week in Hot Springs.

Maggie will compete at Nationals in Kansas in June.  Maggie is a Senior at Monticello High School. Maggie is the daughter of Stephanie Hill.

At 11:20 Sunday morning, a southbound Case backhoe being driven by Lake Village man, was rear ended by a southbound Volvo 18-wheeler, causing him to be the second big-rig related death inMcGehee since Friday.

Pam Butler from the Monticello Branch Library visited Discovery Children’s Center and read to the students as part of our Arkansas Children’s Week Celebration!

No one was injured, Tuesday afternoon around 6 PM, when a local school bus was rear-ended by a Toyota Camry.
